From there, I began teaching and six years later, I earned my master's degree in Educational Leadership from Marquette University. For the past three years, I've served as assistant principal and earned by IB certification. As part of my commitment to being a lifelong learner, I enroll in a summer college course every few years, leverage my community of friends in school leadership, meet with my mentor, and do a lot of reading."

I earned my undergraduate degree in Music Education from Kansas City, Kansas Community College, and Florida A&M University. After graduation, I taught for a semester at FAMU and later pursued my master's in music education at Florida State University. I taught music education in middle and high school for four and five years, respectively. I earned my certification in Educational Leadership while teaching in high school and later became an assistant principal at the high school level for four years. I continued my commitment to lifelong learning by becoming an intern principal and later Principal at the middle school level. I earned my Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership in 2017. I continued my education by attending reading and math training, standards-based instruction workshops, teacher observation training, and a superintendent's Training academy.
