As the leader of the school, you will be in charge of seeking out and implementing professional development opportunities. Teachers appreciate being asked as to what kind of development they could use, so it is not a bad idea to communicate that you would seek staff feedback in order to best plan development.

"I am planning to host quarterly professional development opportunities that cater directly to what teachers ask for. There is more buy in from staff when their voices are heard and they receive the development they ask for. I would also seek out staff members who are doing an exceptional job in different areas to teach the rest of the staff. This empowers staff and allows us to share the great work teachers are already doing in their classrooms. The more relevant PD opportunities, the better, and it would be a priority of mine."
