It's always a great idea to have questions ready for the interviewer. Review the company website and other online resources to ensure the questions you are asking are not mundane, or redundant. The last thing an interviewer wants to hear is a list of items you could have found the answers to from merely watching a video on their company site!

Having a question or two ready to ask shows the interviewer that you're engaged with the conversation, and eager to learn more. You've done a good job asking an open-ended question that can't be answered with a simple "yes" or "no." Remember, you don't want to ask a question that could easily be answered with a quick online search or by glancing at the company's website. Interviewers will expect you to have done research on the organization and familiarized yourself with the basics. Several of the questions above would likely be answered during the interview. Consider asking a question or two more specific to the role you're applying to. For example, if you're interested in a specific area of research, you could ask about the opportunities in that area.
Prepare for technical questions about sampling protocols, regulations, and environmental assessments.
