What research did you conduct before applying to our university?
The interviewers want to know how you prepared before sending your application to their university. They do not want to hear that you blindly sent out a million applications, hoping that something would stick. They want to know that you did your research and see their program and institution as a great fit for you and your goals in dental school.
"I researched several schools before applying to my top programs. I started by talking to and interviewing some alumni I know from each institution, and I also spoke with a couple of your current students in the dentistry program. Last year I attended the open house here as well. Your school left a very positive impression on me, which is why I chose to apply here and am so excited for this interview."
Before applying to this school, you may have spoken to alumni of their program, attended an open house, conducted extensive online research, or spoken with current students at the school. No matter how you answer, be sure that you reiterate that you've done your homework and see this program as a great fit for yourself.
