QUESTION 31 OF 40

How do you handle conflicts or disagreements within a team setting?

The interviewers may ask how you handle conflicts or disagreements within a team setting because interpersonal skills and teamwork are essential in the pharmacy profession. As a pharmacist, you must work closely with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians and nurses, to ensure patients receive the best possible care. Therefore, it is essential that you can effectively communicate and collaborate with others, even in difficult situations. By asking this question, the interviewers will gain insight into your ability to handle conflict professionally and work toward a resolution that benefits the team. Additionally, they are looking for evidence of your problem-solving skills and your ability to remain calm and composed under pressure. Describe your conflict resolution skills, using an example that happened at work or school.

"When handling conflicts or disagreements within a team setting, I feel it is important to approach the situation calmly and objectively. First, I like to listen to each person's perspective and try to understand where they're coming from. Then, I work with the team to find a solution that takes everyone's concerns into account. I always remember that everyone on the team is working towards a common goal, so finding a solution that benefits the team as a whole is key. If we cannot resolve the conflict or disagreement, I have found it helpful to bring in a neutral third party to help mediate the situation. Communication and a willingness to find a solution are key to successfully handling conflicts within a team."
