QUESTION 1 OF 40

At Wayne State University, we look for students with a true passion for medicine. What appeals to you most about working in the field of pharmacy?

The Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy is interested in admitting passionate students committed to pursuing a career in pharmacy. They look for candidates who are motivated and enthusiastic about their field of study and who can demonstrate their passion through their academic performance, extracurricular activities, and personal experiences. So, having a true passion for medicine can be a valuable asset when applying to Wayne State University.

The interviewers would like to understand what drives your pursuit of a career in pharmacy. Your core passion will keep you going on the most challenging days as a student. To understand how to motivate you, the interviewers need to know what fires you up!

It is okay to share a personal story when answering this question. Perhaps you can discuss what initiated your interest in becoming a pharmacist to begin with. Whatever drives you, make sure the interviewers can feel your excitement about working in the pharmaceutical field.

"There are several factors that drive my passion for a career in the area of pharmaceuticals. If I had to pinpoint one main driver, I would say that helping others through chronic pain or debilitating disease management is the most significant. Everyone deserves access to important medications, and I plan to live that mantra by being the best at what I do and giving my all to my patients and customers every day."
