The Admissions & Recruitment team at OSU College of Veterinary Medicine wants to see that you have some insight into the desired qualities of a veterinarian. This is an opportunity to give a unique answer, so dig deeper than simply saying 'good communication skills' or 'strong attention to detail.' Perhaps you believe that every veterinarian should possess patience, accountability, or empathy. Maybe you value integrity, confidence, or optimism above all other qualities.
When discussing which quality you feel is most important for a veterinarian to possess, be sure to include a statement showing that you exude this characteristic.

"I believe that the most important quality for a veterinarian to possess is empathy. A veterinarian with empathy is a medical professional who understands the importance of a pet's companionship. They will treat all attending staff respectfully and be dedicated to bettering themselves in their craft. I work hard to build my empathy levels daily. I do this by broadening my viewpoint on numerous issues, putting myself in the shoes of others whenever possible, and working to never compare one person's decisions with what I believe to be right or wrong."
