At the root of this question, your interviewer will be looking to gauge your personal integrity in your work and your ability to give your opinion, even though it may be unpopular. In the example that you give, speak to why you felt it was important to speak up in regard to your integrity and values. Then, let your interviewer know that you did this in a tactful way while respecting the viewpoint of others. Make sure that the example you provide ends with a great outcome for you and those whose opinions you went against.

"During my time directly out of college working as a Sale Representative with a large food distributor, we would run short notice pricing on products that were getting close to expiration date in our warehouse. During one of our sales staff meetings, our sales manager was asking our methods for getting these products out to the right customers. With myself and most of my colleagues talking to high volume customers about the date issue and the pricing, I really felt like we were doing the right thing. A couple of my colleagues were laughing and joking about how they simply invoiced and sent to the short dated products to customers without their direct knowledge. Knowing that this could be a potential health hazard, I immediately gave them feedback to start using our method. I reiterated that it was extremely important for the customer to be aware of the product they were receiving so they could make a plan for it with their staff. After the meeting, am manager commended me for speaking up and stated that things like that are much more well received when they come from a coworker rather than a boss."
