"When I first started working at my current job, I noticed that our waste levels were through the roof, and there was no system in place for recycling or reusing items. I did some research after work on local recycling programs, and then I came up with an idea to create a friendly competition with my coworkers to see who could recycle the most every quarter. I came up with a points and rewards system, then took the idea to my manager. She was thrilled with the idea and gave me ownership of the project, and we started seeing our waste levels go down dramatically. I think it brought us all closer as a team, too."
