"After making sure that no one was hurt, I would assure the customer that it's not a problem and that I'm happy to clean up the spilled or shattered item -- there's no reason for the customer to get their hands dirty! I would also see if there was anything we could do to make sure another accident didn't happen by seeing if items were stacked precariously or could be moved to a lower shelf to avoid shattering in the future."
