Walk us through your education and training, and describe how it will benefit you in this role with Progressive.

Depending on the role you're interviewing for, you may be required to have an education in business, computer science, finance, engineering, or law, for instance. Or, you may not be required to have post-secondary education at all.

Whether formal (college, university courses, or career training modules) or informal education (self-learning, self-guided courses), the hiring managers at Progressive want assurance that you have the training and knowledge required to do the job successfully.

The hiring managers want to know how the knowledge and experiences you have gained from your post-secondary education will positively affect Progressive. Discuss your formal educational experience and highlight the main points that you believe will benefit Progressive when they choose to hire you.

Your answer should assure the hiring managers that you have the skills and training to fulfill the role's duties and exceed expectations. Many of the skills we learn throughout our education are helpful for any situation. People skills and teamwork will help you to interact with your new coworkers. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills will help you analyze information, notice details, and deal with problems on the job.

If you have work experience, focus your answer on how your coursework and training have contributed to your career success so far. Suppose you are interviewing for your first position. In that case, you can talk about how your education will help you to be successful in meeting specific job requirements outlined in Progressive's job posting.

The average HireVue interview takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. This one-way video interview typically includes 3-5 questions. Depending on the HireVue parameters set by Progressive, the asynchronous interview platform will generally give you 30 seconds to prepare a response and up to 2 minutes to answer each question. It's important to note that HireVue stops recording as soon as your time limit is up, so it's better to run under time than overtime.

"Two years ago, I earned my bachelor's degree in Applied Quantitative Science from Arizona State University. We explored real-world challenges using investigative skills that complement traditional methods. This coursework taught me to hone my critical thinking, communication, and quantitative reasoning skills while giving me the ability to make statistical inferences. Now, I can confidently apply and project quantitative reasoning to unfamiliar contexts while using sophisticated insight involving statistical inference and quantitative reasoning. I look forward to contributing this knowledge I gained while obtaining my degree to the team at Progressive while continuing to learn new skills from my leaders and co-workers."
