The hiring managers want to know how the knowledge and experiences you have gained from your post-secondary education will positively affect Progressive. Discuss your formal educational experience and highlight the main points that you believe will benefit Progressive when they choose to hire you.
Your answer should assure the hiring managers that you have the skills and training to fulfill the role's duties and exceed expectations. Many of the skills we learn throughout our education are helpful for any situation. People skills and teamwork will help you to interact with your new coworkers. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills will help you analyze information, notice details, and deal with problems on the job.
If you have work experience, focus your answer on how your coursework and training have contributed to your career success so far. Suppose you are interviewing for your first position. In that case, you can talk about how your education will help you to be successful in meeting specific job requirements outlined in Progressive's job posting.

"Two years ago, I earned my bachelor's degree in Applied Quantitative Science from Arizona State University. We explored real-world challenges using investigative skills that complement traditional methods. This coursework taught me to hone my critical thinking, communication, and quantitative reasoning skills while giving me the ability to make statistical inferences. Now, I can confidently apply and project quantitative reasoning to unfamiliar contexts while using sophisticated insight involving statistical inference and quantitative reasoning. I look forward to contributing this knowledge I gained while obtaining my degree to the team at Progressive while continuing to learn new skills from my leaders and co-workers."

In May 2022, I earned my bachelor's degree in Sports Management from Southern New Hampshire University with a 3.8 GPA. Campus administration also selected me to take part among top students in a leadership program with The National Society of Leadership and Success. Working in the school system and my education have taught me patience, critical thinking, communication, and time management to help benefit me in this role with Progressive. Some other training that will assist me in this position is my many years working with my father on automobiles and for his construction company. Now, I can confidently apply the skills and knowledge I gained to the team at Progressive while continuing to learn new skills from my leaders and coworkers.

Nice! You have an interesting and varied background. Can you include some thoughts about how your experience has led you to develop an interest in insurance and why you believe this is the right fit for you? (They might wonder since your degree is in a different field.) Assure the interviewer that this transition is best for both you and them. Otherwise, great job!

My education and training have provided me with a lot of experience in working with clients and customers. This has helped me gain skills in many areas such as communication and active listening, thriving in a high pace environment, patience and keeping calm, teamwork and problem-solving, as well as organization and multitasking. All of these skills, plus more, can benefit me daily in this role with Progressive as I will often face problems that need resolution, situations that require me to stay calm and be an active listener with clear communication, and many times may have to multitask in which good organization will be very beneficial.

Jaymie's Feedback
Excellent! If you have a formal education, be sure to share your degree information with them as well (Bachelor's in Business Administration, Associate's in Communication, etc.)

Although I have been in Pediatrics for over 30 years, It has always been a part of customer service. I know what it takes to satisfy a customer and that has a lot to do with knowledge and determination. Customer satisfaction is extremely important in any field.

Jaymie's Feedback
If you have a formal education, even if it's not directly related, it's still beneficial to share that you have furthered your education. If not, any on-the-job training or courses/certificates you have earned can also be shared.
