How would you react if you knew a team member was being dishonest?
The hiring managers at Progressive want to know that you are an honest and trustworthy employee. The goal of your response is to provide evidence that you bring integrity to the workplace and that you are unafraid to have uncomfortable conversations.
Progressive operates in a highly sensitive sector where making ethical decisions and building trustworthy relationships are core to the organization's success. The company needs to make sure that they hire honest and reliable people. Consider giving an example of your honesty in action vs. simply stating that you are an honest individual.
Since this question is phrased as, 'How would you react...,' you can respond hypothetically. The Situation, Solution, Benefit formula is helpful in this instance.
Step 1) Situation: Express your understanding of the hypothetical situation (your coworker being dishonest).
Step 2) Solution: Outline the solution you would introduce if you encountered dishonesty in the workplace.
Step 3) Benefit: Highlight how your approach to confronting dishonesty will benefit Progressive when they choose to hire you.
The average HireVue interview takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. This one-way video interview typically includes 3-5 questions. Depending on the HireVue parameters set by Progressive, the asynchronous interview platform will generally give you 30 seconds to prepare a response and up to 2 minutes to answer each question. It's important to note that HireVue stops recording as soon as your time limit is up, so it's better to run under time than overtime.
"I take pride in my work and would not tolerate dishonesty since it interferes with company goals and reputation. With a focus on honesty and transparency, I would feel obligated to report a coworker who was being dishonest. Of course, I would refer to any policy or guidelines available and speak to my leader to ensure that I appropriately handle the situation. I would desire to help bring a resolution without escalating the situation or introducing new conflict. For example, my manager was recently on vacation for three weeks. Some of my co-workers wanted to falsify our timesheets to reflect overtime hours that we did not work. I disagreed and convinced them that it was a bad idea and certainly not worth being fired over. If hired at Progressive, I will hold myself and my peers accountable to the highest ethical standards."

Marcie's Feedback
It's great that you value honesty. Before reporting your coworker, you might approach them in a nonjudgmental manner and ask what's going on to confirm an issue exists before escalating it. If you encouraged them to turn themselves in and they didn't, then it would be time to report the issue to a manager. Your example shows your integrity, but be careful because just the association with a group of people who would do something so blatantly wrong (falsifying their timesheets) might reflect negatively on you. It might be better to instead walk the interviewer through exactly how you would handle this hypothetical scenario and leave it at that. Good job!

This is a good strategy to follow. It shows you make sure you know the facts before rushing to accusations and if you find someone being dishonest, you can follow a company process to report it.
