What are your thoughts regarding people who become participants in a clinical trial but leave before the trial ends?

"Without knowing why a participant chooses to leave a trial, it would be difficult for me to say exactly how I feel about their exiting the trial. Some people become ill or cannot take the effects of the treatment and are forced to leave while others simply change their minds."

"I imagine that people who have worked with clinical trials longer than me might be a bit more opinionated concerning the matter. My thoughts are that each person should weigh the risks and benefits prior to agreeing to a trial. However, it is understandable that some circumstances cannot be predicted."

Even if you have an unpopular opinion regarding participants who leave a trial early, you want to focus on withholding a negative thought. The interviewer does not want to hire a researcher who is judgmental about others' decisions.
