On a scale of 1-10, how skilled are you in communication? Why did you choose that particular rating for yourself?
"My current supervisor and co-workers will attest to my clear and concise communication skills. Because I am an open leader, my team also lets me know if I need to clarify anything. Based on this feedback from my current co-workers, I would rate my communication skills as an 8 out of 10. I'm definitely strong in this area, but still have room for improvement as I continue to grow as a leader and become more familiar with the OTS communication values."

I feel that I have excellent communication skills that could be rated as a 9. In order for a team in any industry to be successful, your teammates and supervisor should be immediately informed of progress and issues that come up within a project. Recently, I was asked by my current manager to assist in training an inexperienced server. This server really struggled through a hectic dinner rush. However, I helped him get through it by reminding him of urgent tasks and visiting tables to receive input on his service. I applied this customer input to helpful advice for the server.

Good answer! You do well to clearly rate your communication skills, and provide a recent example of your skills in action to justify the score. If there are any areas of communication that you're working to improve, take this opportunity to share them with the interviewer.
