Question 3 of 35

Tell me about the most rewarding experience you have had while working in a team environment. What made it so satisfying?

"My software development team was not getting along a few years ago, so I reached out to an external team-building consulting service. With their help, we organized a day full of development exercises that were meant to draw our team closer to each other by developing a sense of trust and camaraderie. This experience was incredibly rewarding because I saw relationships and bonds quickly form. I had a plan in place for keeping the momentum over time, which has also worked well to this day. Looking back, trust and communication were huge issues on this team and I learned that these two things can be fostered with a little effort."

      2nd Answer Example

"The first team that I joined out of college was the most rewarding team-based environment that I have been a part of. My organization at the time promoted a highly collaborative environment where communication was always open, people were rewarded for their accomplishments, and teams were built based on individual strengths. The team that I worked in had a strong sense of community where we all felt secure in sharing our thoughts and ideas. We had fun at work and outside of work together and this helped build trust in each other. From what I've heard about working at Microsoft, I would love to come to work in your family environment."
