Tell me about a time you were assigned a task you’d never done before.

The interviewer wants to gauge your ability to adapt to situations. JetBlue likes to keep candidates who are flexible under various situations. Explain that you are willing to learn new tasks and take on new roles or assignments. Good leaders don't just abandon the task, pass it on to other employees, or blame others when something goes wrong; they step up and make things happen.

"One time, when I was at XYZ company, we were getting ready for the weekend. About two hours before we closed the day, my director asked for the most recent list of refund requests that came through various lines of business. It took me over three hours, but I managed to pull the list and send it to him. My director thanked me for the extra effort and said I could report later on Monday."
