"When a team member has a problem, I first encourage them to self-help and look for the resource they need (whether it's tracking down an email or referencing a shared document). If they can't, I encourage them to consult a coworker for support. That encourages them to rely more on their team instead of me for all their answers and helps them bond and strengthen their relationships through trust and reliability. If a team member is out, I also have their coworkers cover for them, which further helps them develop their relationships. As they spend time together, they discover each others' strengths and often collaborate more."

"I encourage my team to interact regularly. We all work remotely, so this is very important. I schedule regular team meetings so they can get to know one another better. I also host "brainstorm" sessions where they can bring a situation or problem to the meeting and collaborate and problem-solve as a group."
