"A few weeks ago, my manager was asking for volunteers to come in for a very early-morning shift to do a full store inventory before the store opened -- she was asking us to arrive at the store by 3 AM! Not many of my coworkers were thrilled about the idea, but a few of us volunteered. I asked my manager if it would be alright if I brought in some coffee and breakfast items to share with my coworkers to help make the painful early morning hours pass more happily, and she was grateful for the idea. The inventory ended up going really seamlessly, and everyone was happy to have the caffeine and pastries to pep up their morning. Those kinds of simple additions to the happiness and strength of my team are what I really enjoy contributing at work."
