Many companies will not have a dedicated market researcher on staff, so that this responsibility may fall on you as a Marketing Assistant. Market research initially requires searching the web for places your competitors are advertising and, as an ongoing effort, monitoring social media feeds and search engine reports. Customer surveys typically involve either one-on-one interviews, questionnaires, or focus groups. Discuss your experience with market research and customer surveys. Include the tools and platforms you are familiar with to help you collect and analyze the data from your study.

"I've used SurveyMonkey to conduct customer satisfaction surveys. I then analyzed and tabulated the data in Excel. I know how to complete a SWOT analysis for larger research projects. For ongoing market research, I utilize a Google Chrome extension called GrowthBar. This extension helps me to do market research on the fly where I can find critical data points about our competitors' websites, the growth channels, and the keywords that are working for them."
