"A few months ago, I was a bit disappointed in my supervisor for implementing mandatory overtime for our entire team. We had just had a few new hires start, and they were not fully trained. I also felt that it was not a great way to start their employment with the company, since mandatory overtime was not the norm for our team. I knew that there were a few members of our team that did wish to take on some overtime hours. I spoke with my supervisor and asked if there was any way to create a signup system for the available work so that those who were hoping to gain additional hours could without requiring it of all employees. He liked my idea, and we now have an overtime signup sheet that we always use."
