"In a previous role, a coworker was working with a chemical that had special disposal requirements. I witnessed this individual pour the chemical down a drain. Immediately, I told the individual that the chemical could not be put into the drain and that it could cause a serious hazard. I then picked up the lab phone and called our on-site emergency safety team to make them aware of what happened and they were able to come to the lab and resolve the concern."
