Auditors have a limited amount of time in the field and time must be utilized effectively. An Audit Manager is responsible for planning the audit and making sure the audit runs smoothly during fieldwork.

"As an Audit Manager, I understand that I will be heavily involved in the audit planning process before we perform fieldwork for the client. I would use the planning documents as my field guide to ensure that the fieldwork is running as planned. I would check in with the Audit Partner daily or even more frequently, if issues were to arise. I would also manage the staff auditors to make sure they were using time efficiently."
