This question assesses your professionalism and how well you can objectively present your opinion while gauging the depth of your knowledge on this subject. What holds value here is how well you can weigh every side of this nuanced subject, i.e. how much or how little health insurance providers pay out to health care providers and institutions, which is often much lower than the contractual rate. This should be weighed against sustainable business practices, how much patients pay (premiums, copay, coinsurance, and deductibles), and who benefits most. It is fine to have your own opinion as long as it is based on well-informed facts. They want a glimpse of your critical thinking skills and ability to be diplomatic when addressing hot topics. It wouldn't hurt to appeal to both sides of the argument, but make sure you come across as educated in your approach.

"I believe that the basic concepts of socialized health care and privatized health care are good by nature and speak to a range of patients. Some of my peers have expressed their love for socialized health care because, although they pay a higher tax rate, they are not caught in an expensive whirlwind when they face illness. Privatized health care, on the other hand, can offer significantly shorter wait times which is very important for those with a potentially critical or debilitating illness. I believe it is important to have options for both so people can choose."
