"COVID-19 and other pandemics have left a significant impact on the pharmaceutical profession, including how we provide medications to patients, the increased demand for particular meds, the risk put on support staff, and a gap in PPE supply and demand. One significant impact that has interested me is how we dispense medications, ranking particular meds based on importance. During COVID-19, pharmacists have experienced detrimental drug shortages due to manufacturing and transportation challenges. In the future, pharmacists will have to revisit their distribution model and how they approach collaboration with biotech and pharmaceutical companies. I look forward to learning about the long-term impact as I dive deeper into the pharmaceutical profession."
