Your TouroCOM Admissions Officer wants to get to know you and your interests. This desire might lead them to ask questions about what you do in your personal time. By asking what you are currently reading, the admissions team can learn more about your interests and if you place importance on feeding your mind regularly.
You are a keen aspiring med student, so it's essential to feed your mind regularly to stay sharp and in the know on topics that interest you. Think about a book or research paper that you are reading (or have recently read) and its impact on you. If possible, connect what you have learned and how this new knowledge will benefit you as a med student. If you're not currently reading a book, talk about one you have read in the past that left an impression on you.

"I am reading a book called 'Letter to a Young Female Physician' by Suzanne Koven. This book discusses the challenges that female physicians face, including feelings of imposter syndrome. I am only a third through this book and have already learned some incredible lessons on the desire to find meaning and how to embrace my imperfect self, allowing me to give the most of myself to this field. I highly recommend this book for any aspiring medical professionals."
