What are you reading right now?
The interviewers ask this question to see if you feed your mind regularly, what kind of literature you prefer, and what you learn from the books you read. Talk to the interviewers about a book that you are currently reading. If you are not currently reading a book, talk about one that has impacted you the most.
"I am reading Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman. It is an interesting book about cognitive behaviors and identifying these behaviors to make more thoughtful, informed decisions. I believe all pre-med students should read this book as we must make consequential decisions as physicians."
As a pre-med student, you are most likely reading medical books! If you are reading another type of book in addition to medical books, share the name and author of the book and how reading it has impacted you so far. The interviewers will appreciate your taking time out of your studies to read for pleasure. Medical school admissions committees want well-rounded students who are knowledgeable about other topics than the scientific prerequisites.
