The interviewers want to know that if you were accepted into Midwestern University, you would have the support required for your heavy and challenging medical school workload.

Discuss your support system and how your family and friends express their excitement for your career. You can also mention anyone in your family who may have had a similar path in the medical industry.

"My family is incredibly proud of me for attending medical school. My father is especially keen as he also graduated from Midwestern University. My parents and older brother live in the area so that I will have a powerful and encouraging support system should I be accepted into Midwestern University."

If your family is not supportive of your decision, avoid spending a lot of time explaining why they are not. Instead, describe how you have the support of friends, mentors, or a partner. The interviewers want to see that you have some outside support if accepted into Midwestern University.
