Do you prefer to work in a team-based position or individually?

The interviewer would like to know in which situation you are happiest and most productive. Talk to them about your preference for teamwork or working individually. Be sure to avoid pigeonholing yourself into one particular scenario (i.e., I only like to work alone). You may work well without needing much management or direction, or perhaps you are better driven in a collaborative and team-led environment. Either way, be honest with the interviewer about your preferences without leaning negatively, either way.

"Whether I am doing an independent project, or working in a team environment, I always give my best. I enjoy the camaraderie of working in a team, but I can be successful working autonomously as well."

"Having worked in the industry for seven years, I found that I enjoy a team-led environment. I enjoy working on a team as I learn from others' experiences and bounce ideas off other team members. However, I have worked in autonomous positions, am very self-motivated, and can work well alone. I can perform well in either work environment."

You want to show the interviewer that you are flexible and can work in any environment. However, you want to lean more towards your preferred environment aligning with the job you are interviewing for.
