How would you approach selling an investment product you did not believe in?

"Good question. Obviously if the product lacked integrity or was an outdated or poor offering I wouldn't push it. However, if it was a product I didn't personally favor and my employer offered it and wanted to highlight it, I suppose I'd try to better understand its benefits, how it would apply to my clients, and work towards learning from others who have successfully sworn by it's benefits. I'll always do my best to share and support my employers vision."

"Integrity is my number one core value, and I take a lot of pride in that. I'd never push a product that serves no benefit to my clients. They are trusting me, and I value their trust. I wouldn't ever do anything other than preserve that trust and build upon it."

It may seem obvious to some that you should never sell an investment product in which you did not believe. However, this tests your view and understanding of the products of your industry. Perhaps the product in question is one which your employers have seen great value in, but which you have trouble selling or poorly grasp the benefits of. So, the interviewer wants to know that you will uphold the integrity of UBS Wealth Management while supporting the offerings they stand behind. They also want to again assess your integrity, and your ability to step outside of your comfort zone.
