An effective leader is an effective communicator. Therefore, any time a team leader identifies a growth opportunity in a member of their team, it is incumbent on them to ensure that they deliver any feedback prompt, often, and specific (POS). Now, every manager may have differing approaches to delivering feedback. Some may prefer to save it for the performance review while others dish it out POS. Your response to feedback is much more important than the input itself. How feedback is delivered says a lot about the skill level of a leader. How you respond to the feedback says a lot about your emotional intelligence, how career driven you are, and how you view those in positions of authority.
