"Yes, it was a very unfortunate situation I had with a colleague who was in the middle of a very difficult personal situation in their life and it was impacting their work. Rather than get mad about the situation or take on more work myself, I sat down and had a heart-to-heart conversation with them. They were very appreciative and opened up about their personal issue to me and it was very easy for me to see how their work was impacted. I suggested help through our EAP program and suggested taking some time off work, reiterating that the projects we were working on were very important. My colleague talked to our manager and took a week off work. They came back very refreshed and ready to perform at a high level. I'm hopeful that this situation will show you that I can be a great team player here."
