"We had a member of our team that was clearly burned out. They showed up to work every day, a little worse for the wear. Sometimes hungover, sometimes sleep-deprived and unshowered, and they were either falling asleep in front of their computer or avoiding work. They eventually quit without giving any notice. Our staff was stretched thin as it were. I stepped up and took on the majority of their workload. This also required putting in extra hours on the job, and occasionally taking work home with me until we were able to hire additional support. It was a lot of work to perform, and a lot of work to keep me from burning out as well. As soon as we were able to hire someone, I spearheaded most of their training to get them up to speed as quickly as possible."
