Since becoming one of the hottest trends in supply chain management, zero-based budgeting is a very foreign concept to a lot of businesses and industries. "In my experience, zero-based budgeting is most appropriate to implement with organizations that are in need of a cultural shift from that of freely spending and wasting to one that runs a pretty tight ship. When I have seen it be effective, organization were forced to find alternate means of success when the front-line leaders had buy-in into the process of the philosophy. In my time, I've trained several organizations on the tactic and helped them implement a zero-based budget from scratch."

With my current organization, we were in a dire need for both sales and revenue growth and this program really helped turn us around in year one of running it.
