"I have always been open to feedback and often ask for it, with the aim of learning and improving. I take it to heart and implement any change promptly when appropriate. When I get feedback that feels misplaced or confusing, I ask questions, trying to understand where it is coming from and its context. Sometimes, the feedback isn't communicated properly, concealing another issue that needs to be addressed. Seeking, accepting, and clarifying feedback is critical in this field. I take my time to respond, because like people, I initially feel slightly hurt by negative feedback. Once I have some distance, I then reflect on the negative feedback. If I feel there is some validity to it, I may go back to the person who has provided it and ask them how I can improve and do things differently. I understand that ultimately it is only through feedback that we are able to become better practitioners, and I regularly seek it out from colleagues and young people that I work with.

I understand the importance of feedback, especially negative feedback, in order to develop and learn. If I am confused by the feedback, I will ask for clarification and what I might be able to do to rectify the mistake, as well as make an effort in the future to act on the feedback.

I am here to learn, just like anyone else I would rather get positive feedback. But I also like to be told if I am doing something wrong or need to change how I do something. People see negative feedback to be judgemental and at the moment I do feel sometimes that way but I try to see where the other person is coming from so I get better myself in the field. No one is perfect.

I am here to learn, and just like everyone else. I would rather get positive feedback rather than negative feedback. However, I understand the importance of critical feedback and I value the opportunity to use feedback as a means to grow. I like to be told if I am doing something wrong or need to change my approach, as this allows me to improve. Often, people view critical feedback as being judgemental or ill-intended, but I don't look at it this way. I really try to understand where the other person is coming from, and I value being able to actively listen to feedback as a means to improve.
