Everyone makes mistakes at some time or another, and the interviewers understand things happen. They do not want to hear you blame others, which shows a lack of accountability and character. When you tell the interviewers about a mistake, be honest, briefly describe the situation, and explain what you did to rectify it. Then, assure the interviewers that you learn from mistakes, so they will never happen again.
