"One of the first things I do if a student isn't understanding the material is schedule time to talk with them one-on-one if they choose. I give them a chance to tell me what areas they feel most confused about and then work collaboratively with them. Together, we talk about ways they think might help them better understand the information, whether it is through different teaching methods, after-class study time, more visuals, or different ways of having information explained. I also schedule frequent check-ins with struggling students to give them the chance to ask questions and share areas they still need help in."
