The University of Tennessee's admissions page states that non-resident applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, and residents must have a minimum of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale. They also state that the only exception to the minimum GPA is if an applicant has made a disadvantage declaration by providing a disadvantage statement on their application. Tell the interviewers your current GPA, which should be at the minimum requirements or greater.
