"At this point in my studies, I am most interested in brain injuries and their impact on how we communicate through speech and language. I bring the compassion required to make a difference in this therapeutic area, as I saw my brother's communication abilities change drastically after being concussed in a car accident. I took him to many speech therapy sessions and was mesmerized by the change I saw in him after a few weeks of seeing a speech-language therapist. I am entirely fascinated by neurological injuries and the way our brains work to impact our speech. I find it interesting that damage to a certain part of the brain can impact many areas of function, including our speech and communication skills. I am eager to learn more while attending the speech-language program at Boston University."
