What is your favorite area of veterinary medicine so far? Which is your least favorite? Why?

By understanding your areas of interest, the interviewers can predict which courses you will enjoy most at Auburn University and how you will fit into their student population and culture. While you don't have to have your future carved out while interviewing for veterinary school, your interviewers would love to hear where you're thinking your interests fall at the current time.

"I'm very interested in a few different areas of veterinary medicine and am looking forward to exploring more options over the next four years in the DVM program at Auburn. Behavioral medicine continues to intrigue me because of the relationship between environment and health in the behavior of animals. Creating treatment plans in these cases seems like a great puzzle to solve. I don't have any areas I consider my least favorite right now, but I would not likely pursue a future in veterinary lab science."

Talk openly about where your interests currently are in the field of veterinary medicine. If you know any areas that likely won't interest you in your career, it's okay to discuss that. If you are honest and genuine with your interviewers, they will respect your answer.
