Every service center that helps maintain automobiles will use what is called a Multi-point inspection sheet or MPI. This is basically a checklist of basic things that need to be checked on a car to see if they require repair. The interviewer must know how familiar you are with the paper or electronic version (usually on an iPad) and your ability to use these tools to upsell additional services.

"I used an MPI when I worked for the dealership in their service department. I would attach it to the repair order, and the technician would fill it out first before beginning the repair. I used the MPI as a tool to upsell tires, brakes, injector services, not just oil changes. It is a great way of increasing sales and showing the customer detailed information about what might be needed for their vehicle."
