In this position at Tenneco, you will be required to wear a new uniform each day. Tell me about the appearance standards your previous position might have had.

Most manufacturing companies will have strict personal appearance standards by which employees must abide. They may prohibit excessive jewelry or require that hair be worn in a cap, or even that steel-toed shoes be worn. The interviewer needs to know that you will be willing to wear or purchase items that might be required. Reassure the hiring manager that wearing a uniform is not an issue.
