QUESTION 12 OF 26

Tell me about a time when your work was critiqued. How did you handle it?

Having your work critiqued is necessary in the construction field. You must take constructive criticism positively and apply what your fellow co-workers are telling you to heart. Construction is an evolving industry, with new products and materials hitting the market every year. Being able to adapt and learn new techniques is a requirement.

"At my last job, we hired a new guy who started a few weeks prior. I was working on the baseboard using a mitre saw to cut the angles. He showed me a technique using a coping saw. It took more time, but the joints were nearly perfect. It was hard at first to listen to a new guy give me instructions, but that's just part of the trade."
