The interviewer asks this question to determine if you have the education needed to perform your job as a Substance Abuse Social Worker. They want to hear what degrees, licensing, or specialized training you have that qualifies you to work in this field.
Focus on describing your education as it relates to the position. Tell the interviewer if you have your bachelor's or master's degree in social work and when you obtained your degree(s). If you are licensed, tell the interviewer what state you are authorized to work in.
"I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Simmons University two years ago and am currently enrolled in a master's program with the same university. I have one year left in the program, and then I will receive my Master's of Social Work. Once I receive my degree, I will complete the state licensing requirements."
