I had a teacher who understood that my shyness was causing me to freeze up every time I got before a class, and they suggested I join the debate team or a public speaking group to get over my fear. I found a Toastmasters group in my town, and it completely transformed the way I felt about public speaking. I ended up joining the debate team after that, and our team won first place in a debate. I have no problem with shyness or public speaking anymore."
