The interviewer is looking to see what motivates and drives you and what you are passionate about. They want to see whether your motivating factors are aligned with the company's goals and culture. Providing insight into your work ethic and personality will help the interviewer understand what type of person you are and if you would be a good employee.

"What motivates me to succeed is the satisfaction I get from providing excellent customer service. I like spending time with my customers and explaining why I am doing the job I am doing. I like for them to understand that I am concerned about the health and safety of their employees and the public, and that I am not there to fine them or harass them in any way. When I make that clear, and they see that I am honest and truthful, it creates a much better work environment."
