SSH(Secure Shell) was invented to replace Telnet, which uses port 22. While SSL (Now TLS 1.3) is a protocol used to encapsulate in a secure manner (encrypting) other protocols such FTP [the one I believe you were aiming here], HTTP, etc. HTTP with SSL operates out of port 443 while FTP with SSL (FTPS) operates out of 989,990 ports.
