For this question, your interviewer will be looking to hear that you have at least some knowledge of the four types of turbine engines: turbojet, turboprop, turbofan and turboshaft. While explaining a brief knowledge of each, talk in a bit of details about the turbine engines you have direct experience in working with. Make sure that you do your research prior to your interview to talk about the most common type of engine you will be working with in the role that you are interviewing for.

"As you can see from my military career, I have many years of experience working with turboshaft engines typically found on helicopters. This direct, hands on experience would serve me well in this role because the turboshaft engines I have worked on for years have a lot of similarities to the turbofan engines I would be working on in this role. Through my schooling, I was exposed to all of the different types of turbine engines and feel very comfortable working with any of them when called upon to do so."
