The admissions interviewer at UMMS (University of Minnesota Medical School) would like to know your stance on the controversial subject of animal testing and the use of animals for educational purposes. "Although I am a supporter of animal rights, I do understand that animal testing and research is still required for pharmaceutical testing and many other research platforms. For instance, in the U.S., it is the law for a pharma company to test on animals before a drug is distributed for human consumption. Will this change down the road? Yes, I believe that it will. We have seen technology take us so far in terms of simulations and more, and I feel encouraged that we will not lean on animal testing in research forever."
