Your answer to this question should inform your interviewer how well versed you are in the challenges you'll face once launched into your career. This will speak to your emotional maturity and how equipped you are to face some of the darker sides of pharmaceutical drugs and the legal implications involved. As with any question in this set, perform ample research before your interviewer and arrive prepared. Show the interviewer you're responsible, take the responsibilities of this job very seriously, and are equipped to recognize the signs of dependency issues. As they state on their site, Midwestern University wants to make sure their students learn about the "ethical; scrupulous in handling, storing, and dispensing dangerous and habit-forming substances."

"I understand that prescription drug abuse is an epidemic and that, as a pharmacist, I must be diligent in recognizing the signs of abuse in my customers/patients. I have researched this social issue a great deal, and I know that some of the signs include a patient being adamant about receiving a certain brand of drug, doctor-hopping, and even forging doctor's prescriptions. I will be committed during my career to diligence and awareness of this social issue."
