QUESTION 23 OF 30

What is a feature backlog?

The features of Snapchat and the other products of Snap Inc. are planned and managed using feature backlogs. Interviewers ask this question to test a candidate's knowledge of this product development artifact that product managers typically own.

Remember to include the types of features typically in a backlog. Maintenance efforts, bug fixes, and other technical features are often tracked alongside new features and changes to existing features.

"A feature backlog is a prioritized list of work items that represent the upcoming work for a product. The list typically includes backlog items for new features, changes to existing features, bug fixes, maintenance items, and other technical work such as infrastructure changes. The items in the backlog usually have a basic scope description and a high-level estimate of the work involved. I have experience authoring and maintaining feature backlogs and feel confident I could effectively manage any backlog-related duties required for the product manager role at Snapchat."
